Kia ora! I’m David.
My pronouns are: he/him
I’m the other half of Emerald and Ebony: Sustainability Advisor, plant nerd, and Jodie’s husband.
Like Jodie, I’m big on nature and sustainability. I have a Masters degree in Conservation Biology, and have studied Environmental Science, Ecology, and Biodiversity (I told you I was a plant nerd).
I’ll be there every step of the way finding sustainable solutions for your nature-inspired wedding; chances are, I’ll even be there on the day to ensure your wedding is as stress-free as possible.
Protecting New Zealand’s natural environment is my number one passion — closely followed by helping others appreciate and nurture this spectacular world we live in.
A few facts
- For my wedding, I grew and maintained 200 plants to give out as favours to our wedding guests. It was a year-long project but well worth it when we saw the look on our guests’ faces!
- You can often find me up a mountain. I’ve climbed Taranaki maunga five times, and Ruapehu, Tongariro, Ngāuruhoe once each.
- Jodie and I lived in a tiny self converted campervan travelling Aotearoa fulltime for 18 months before settling in New Plymouth, Taranaki
As for the day itself… it was amazing, and that by no small means, was thanks to Jodie and her husband David. We had absolutely no stress at all on the day, and with the support of the Emerald and Ebony team, the day went ahead like a dream.
